Park District to Build New Pickleball Courts

After over a year of discussion and planning with our Board of Commissioners, the Park District of Forest Park is excited to announce that we will be beginning Phase 1 of our Pickleball Court Project on Monday! This project will transform the Inline Skate Rink into six full-sized Pickleball courts.

Our Maintenance Team has already begun the prep work, removing the dasherboards and cleaning the surface of the Inline rink.

This project, approved at the July Board Meeting, will begin with Phase 1 where they will be laying the new court surface down. The court's surface is going to be Sport Court, the official Modular Surface of USA Pickleball.

The first part of this project is expected to be completed in mid-to-late September, rendering the new courts usable in the end of the fall.

Once the Sport Court is laid down in Phase 1 and begins being used, we will monitor the use & needs of players to determine where to place seating and shading in Phase 2. We look forward to resident feedback with these new courts.

A huge thank you goes out to our Board of Commissioners for supporting these new courts.

If you have any questions about this project, feel free to give us a call at 708-366-7500.
