Sprayground Opens Friday, July 10

Great news Forest Park Residents! We have been given the go-ahead to open up our sprayground for our residents on Friday, July 10. While this is certainly exciting news, it will be operating a little differently than usual.

The sprayground will be open from 10:00am – 7:30pm daily, and admission will be granted every two hours (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm). Only 50 patrons will be allowed admission during each hour-and-a-half play period. Once the allowed limit of 50 patrons is reached, admission will not be allowed until the next time block. A Resident Pass (more info below) will be required for admission.

Sprayground Rules

  • Resident Pass required for admission.
  • Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
  • No daycare or day camp groups will be admitted.
  • Bathing suits are not required, however, children in diapers must wear a swim diaper.
  • Social distancing will be enforced. Masks are required when unable to social distance. Please be courteous to other patrons using the sprayground.
  • Locker rooms will not be available. Please change prior to arrival at the sprayground.
  • Only 50 patrons will be allowed admission during each time block. Admission will halt once 50 patrons have entered the sprayground.
  • Admission will be allowed at 10am, 12pm, 2pm 4pm and 6pm to the first 50 patrons with resident passes. This includes children under 3 who are not required to have a pass.
  • No food allowed on deck.
  • Water bottles are allowed, however, the water fountain is turned off. We will have water bottles for purchase for $1.
  • There will not be a lost and found. Any items left at the end of the night will be discarded at the end of each day.
  • Chairs will not be available. You may bring your own foldable chair. Chair must be placed within one of the painted family pods.  Any chairs left at the end of the day will be discarded.

Resident Pass Information

  • You will need to come into the office to get a pass.
  • The resident pass is free.
  • Anyone over the ages of 3 and up will need a pass.
  • The program waiver is available online. We encourage you to complete it prior to visiting the park district.
  • If you do not already have an account in our registration system, you will need to prove residency.
  • To prove Forest Park residency, you will be asked to submit your driver’s license, state identification, or other photo ID that identifies you along with two other current documents that show your Forest Park address (three if your photo ID does not show a Forest Park address).  Examples include voter cards, auto registration, a recently dated utility bill, cell phone bill and credit card statement. Parents may also be asked to provide proof of residency and/or family relationship for children. 
  • Extended office hours will be available 7/8, 7/9 and 7/10 from 8am-7pm and Saturday, 7/11, from 9am-12pm to allow residents to get their passes.
  • You may also apply for your passes Monday- Friday from 8am-4pm during regular business hours at the Admin. Building.

General:

  • Locker rooms will be closed.
  • Port-a-potties are available outside of splash pad area.
  • Social distancing will be enforced (use of poly spots).
  • Face masks required when entering and exiting area.
  • Sand Pit area will be closed
