As part of our commitment to healthy lifestyles, the Park District of Forest Park will be offering FREE Cardio Room passes to all residents 18 and up.  Stop in the Park District office today to get started on the road to a healthier you!  Must show proof of residency to obtain cardio pass.

Open to Forest Park residents only.

                                                              Saturday, 9:00am-1:00pm



Active adults (60+ years old) are an important part of the community.  The Park District strives to provide activities that engage our older adults.  All of our adult programming is open to our active adults.  Our Cardio Room features work out equipment that is gentle on the body’s joints and has adjustable resistance features.  Staff is always willing to show anyone how to use the work out equipment, so please do not hesitate to ask!  If you have any questions, or program ideas we would also love to hear from you.  Please contact us at 708-366-7500.


PILOXING uniquely blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. It is a combination of standing Pilates, boxing and dance and is done either in bare feet or gym shoes and using ½ lb. hand weights (gloves, no free weights). It’s a great core and cardio workout! Glove hand weights can be ordered from the instructor.

Ultimate Frisbee is a high-paced competitive sport that combines soccer and football with two goals on both sides of the field.  The two teams that are on the field are trying to advance the Frisbee across the opponent’s goal line.  Teams will learn the proper way to throw a Frisbee and play recreational games against their peers.  You may drop-in each week for this program.  PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!

This exercise class concentrates on body conditioning.  The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises. This method strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance and unites body and mind while creating a more streamlined shape.

Enjoy a gentle, beautiful and flowing Tai Chi Qigong exercise routine that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxing.  Designed to strengthen the back and improve the general health and well-being of the practitioner.

This ancient form of Chinese exercise is a gentle method of simple exercises that is easy to learn.  It consists of a sequence of 18 simple movements performed with several repeats in a fluid, continuous way, combined with good posture and deep abdominal breathing.  Better health, fitness peace of mind and so much more, as your mind and bodywork in harmony for superb results.

A gong sound bath is a meditative relaxation experience for any overworked, stressed out mom or dad where a gong is played and vibrations “wash” over the participants inducing deep relaxation. During a gong sound bath, participants lay down on yoga mats, relax, close their eyes and listen to vibrational sounds of the gong. No meditation or yoga experience required or necessary. Some benefits include, deep relaxation, diminished anxiety and insomnia, combats physical pain, low energy, depression and headaches, and increase self-awareness.

The techniques and strategies taught will bolster in mind and body giving you confidence.  Techniques will be taught, practiced and discussed in a variety of situations from beginner to intermediate.  Lessons and techniques are presented in a way that any physical skill level will benefit from the experience.  We will discuss and practice the secret to Self Defense that starts before any physical defense is required.  Wear comfortable clothes that allow a wide range of movement.

This class is for the player who is just starting to play tennis.  The player will learn the following fundamentals of tennis; how to hold/grip the racquet, footwork, forehand/backhand strokes, proper stance, service motion/toss, hand eye coordination and volley/net play.  Instructor will incorporate fun and stimulating tennis games and activities throughout the lesson.
